Life is like a river

Evening in Siglufjörður

After a lazy day with sleeping late and doing almost nothing (although I did go swimming so that was something...) we drove to Hauganes to have dinner with my family. Then we decided on a whim to go for an evening drive to Siglufjörður. It's about 45 kilometres (28 miles) from Hauganes and there are three tunnels through the mountains on the way over there, Ólafsfjarðargöng (or Múlagöng) and Héðinsfjarðargöng.

The weather was a bit windy and cold but we had a look around, drank fine coffee in Kaffi Rauðka and then drove around this lovely little village.
My father was born in Siglufjörður in 1950 and lived there for 2 years as a little boy, so it has a special connection to my family story.
