World Book Day

Who invented World Book Day ? Who invents any of these Days I wonder ?

I enjoy reading a good book, but just no time at present to sit down and read one. It's one of those things for the future. 

In consequence I have a series of books on my "must get around to reading it" pile. This is one of them, viewed through the base of a glass lamp (it is abstract Thursday, thanks to youoregon1). It was a booker prize winner last year. I am told it is a good read. I ought to start it sometime soon.
