Stork & Landing Kestrel

It's not the greatest picture in the world but I like it.  It won't stand up to being looked at in large but it's a kestrel coming to land and you can see the flaring of the wings.  I'm really pleased.  Mainly I'd been taking speculative shots of the kestrel in flight and hoping that one of them might be decent.

This was taken down at Schierstein where all the birds are getting really active at the moment.  There was even a Twitcher Moment when we saw a Bittern - never seen one of them before.  There was a guy photographing what looked just like reeds (he had the biggest Leica lens I've ever seen) and he pointed out where it was hidden.  It really has super camouflage.

After a bit of wandering around, we headed off to the supermarket and then home to warm radiators and dopey cats.
