Today It's Rossini

La Petite Messe Solonnelle to be precise, scored for two pianos and a harmonium, four soli and SATB choir.

I've just returned from rehearsal at St James the Greater in Leicester having arrived with only a minute to spare. The traffic in the city was jammed. A long queue waiting to get into the Highcross shopping centre car park.

The music sounded lovely. It usually does. This is a photo of the harmonium; we're only using one piano.

Home now to make some curried parsnip soup before leaving later for the concert.
