Day 6 March macro challenge...Swan

This was taken on a recent trip to Bruges....we stayed at a fabulous hotel which had been decorated specifically for a visit by Napoleon Bonaparte which apparently never happened although there had been many Royal visitors...
The swans in Bruges are quite significant and there are many of them around the city....this was taken from the main staircase in the hotel which was decorated with these ornate swans all along the bannister. They represent the memory of a Flemish man who saved the city from invasion and who had a long neck, so it was decreed that the city would always have swans...
