1 Frisbee, 3 Dogs, 2 Friends & 1 Empty Beach

What an incredible day it's been.

We set off on a trip North (planned at the very last minute) with thick snow falling, not sure if we'd even make it. Luckily after 2 hours driving, the sun came out and we arrived at Croft 16 safe and sound. We had coffee and I finally got to taste a good wedge of G's delicious Christmas cake. We got to see the new polytunnel, which P has been working on and then they told us about their future plans for the croft and house.

P came up with the great idea of driving to Balnakeil, so we took a leisurely drive up there and had the whole beach to ourselves. The views are spectacular from the dunes. The snow covered mountains, a deep blue sky and warm sunshine, made for a wonderful afternoon. The dogs got back exhausted, having run along the beach and up and down the sand dunes.

Back to P and G's for another coffee and more Christmas cake (eyes bigger than my belly) (no dinner for us tonight) then we had to leave.

The petrol station at Ullapool was closed and we had very little fuel to get back. We had no choice but to keep going, keeping the fuel economy gauge visible, to ensure we got maximum mileage. We crawled into Gairloch filling station (fortunately 24 hours) and got back home shortly afterwards.
