Sap's running

I love that the first signs of spring here often come from ancient trees, who if they could talk, would have a such steady flow of stories.

Ancient sugar maple, new fangled sap collection, not the classic tin bucket, but a bright sign of spring on Massachusett's South Shore. Cold nights, warm days the sap begins running, the product after much effort, just delicious. I've photographed these old trees before, they're close by the road in front of a farm( see extra) in the next town.

Downton Abbey did not disappoint, we watched smiling with tissues in hand. We shall miss all of our friends from so many seasons.

For the Record ,
This day came in sunny and frosty. The sun has now been covered by clouds bringing darkening skies.

All hands healing. T has a cold, my vertigo is lurking in the background, but workable.
