Woodall Dean

The path through Woodall Dean was fairly hazardous and slippy after a long wet winter and it is very difficult to photograph there as the woodland is very busy, making it difficult therefore to isolate any subject matter. However, using my camera's macro facility I did manage to focus on these catkins. I assume they must have flowered fairly early and then been caught by the recent frosty weather. We were lucky to get lovely sunny  weather today and it gave one hope that spring is just round the corner.
