I went to see my daughter in hospital this afternoon, and while there's 'progress' as yet there's no baby.  Hopefully tomorrow.

I bought a pair of binoculars before Christmas and then joined the RSPB so I'm trying to visit one of their reserves whenever I'm in a different area of the country and this morning I went to the one at Newport.  It was rather nicely laid out but today there weren't very many different birds in evidence although I did see my first Goldcrest amongst the brambles at the bottom of this photo.

There's another RSPB reserve further round the coast somewhere near Swansea, so I may or may not visit that one too if I have time, but if not it'll save until my next visit.
