Portsoy - With a drop of rain

Portsoy harbour on the Moray coast. A popular boat festival takes place here each year in June, I imagine the exact date is dictated by the tide. This year it took place a couple of weeks ago while we were on our way to Holland, as a result we missed the festival this year.

The weather spent the day trying to decide whether or not to let the sun come through, or to continue raining. I took this during one of the wet interludes, and so I seem to have got a drop of water on the lens.

Much quieter here than when the festival is on, and in the harbour side pub there were only locals apart from ourselves. A few people visiting the Portsoy Marble shop which has a selection of local marble products and pottery. I bought a candle holder, and in the pub a non alcoholic beer as my contribution to the local economy.

There are one or two buildings around the harbour that would be very attractive if they were renovated. Might be an interesting project for somebody prepared to put up some risk capital.

In the late afternoon we headed back to Aberdeen for a meal at a Thai/Chinese restaurant. And now, so to bed!
