Power plant

Our plans today were blitzed by me having been laid very low by a cold. Each time we were due to set out on a much shorter excursion I fell asleep again. But thankfully we did manage a tour of some of the many local power plants. They were built next to coalfields, now exhausted, and despite having seen many of Schuh's pictures of them, it still feels odd to see great steaming towers rising straight out of  agricultural land (reclaimed, obviously). I was standing right next to the glasshouses in the extra when I took this picture. The other is an abandoned car park.
