Beth Evans

This lovely pink form of Corydalis solida was named for the wife of Alf Evans, Assistant Curator at Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh from 1939-1985.  This lovely plant has become widely available in recent years.  It is easy to grow, preferring some shade and a place that does not dry out excessively in summer.  Today the first flowers are just opening.

I cannot find a picture of the lady herself but here is one of Alf Evans taken in 1949.
