Perfect Pair

Ridiculously cute photo today, but wandered further down "our" garden today and saw them - apparently, some crazy lady ties up a bitch down there (not her land), then it has puppies, which she totally neglects, so neighbours have to feed them and find homes for them - only these two left and the black one was going to someone in Lisbon today. No wonder we've heard puppies crying in the night...

Today's poem is "On his blindness", by John Milton, which has nothing to do with the photo (but how could I resist?). These are the final six lines, and they certainly spoke to me on my frustration with my enforced rest:

                   ...                        'God doth not need
Either man's work or his own gifts. Who best
Bear his mild yoke, they serve him best. His state
Is kingly: thousands at his bidding speed,
And post o'er land and ocean without rest;
They also serve who only stand and wait.'

Got folk coming for dinner; might have time to get back on here, or not...

In bed, gone midnight, but M pointed out a mistake in the poem - not surprised, done in a rush... Eventful evening, including getting locked out of the house, but all's well that ends well - and the main thing, I'm feeling almost back to normal. So, so grateful.
