The Man with the Flaming Battenberg Tattoo

And this man is Rhod Gilbert, one of Wales' favourite comedians, who was doing a few gigs at the Swansea Grand Theatre. The tattoo came from a tv programme that Rhod does for BBC Wales called Work Experience, where he learns various jobs. You can see a clip from the very programme here.

Poor Rhod was suffering though during the night, after he'd been playing football and had done his back in. As usual he came out to rapturous applause and it must have been about 20 minutes before he actually got into his set properly. At one point we thought we'd seen a relationship split up as Rhod was talking about relationships being in a rut, he asked the audience and this woman in the front row said yes, yes her relationship was in a rut and elbowed her husband. Well within about 5 to 10 minutes this guy upped and left, and we were left with Rhod trying to persuade this woman, plus this guy's mother and brother to go after him, but luckily in the end he came back and I think it was more a case of a comfort break. Lol!

Why do people sit in the front row of a comedy show? You know you're going to get ripped to pieces.

Anyways it was a great evening and I don't think I'll be able to keep a straight face again when I hear the train announcement for a travelling chef and the two pack jacket potatoes found in supermarkets.

Rhod is one seriously funny guy and is a cool dude with it as well! His shows are non-stop laughter from start to finish.

Thanks to the Swansea Grand Theatre for bringing these top comedy stars to the theatre!
