Old Weaving Sheds

Weaving sheds were single story, ground floor buildings.  The power looms used in the weaving process caused severe vibrations which meant they needed to be located on a solid ground floor.. Maximum daylight is achieved by the characteristic sawtooth "north-facing roof lights" as seen here.
These old weaving sheds in Hebden Bridge have long since been converted to other uses.
