Oor Wullie

Lovely bright day and very mild too :-)
After our grocery shop we took a wander up to the Howff.
It may be the last time we'll get to wander round one of our favourite spots in Dundee.
Our route took us past the recently commissioned sculpture of that cartoon favourite Oor Wullie.
This excellent sculpture was commissioned to mark the 80th anniversary of his first appearance in the Sunday Post.
I've put a link in to Beachcomber's journal as he gives a very detailed account of this favourite cartoon character.
I've also included an extra shot of the little poem beside the statue of Wullie :-)
