A Thousand a Day

What a morning! Glorious sunshine at Killingworth Lakes, and a new species for my life list. I saw 14 altogether today, including goldeneye, goosanders, great crested grebes and even a pair of oystercatchers on an inland trip from the seaside. Plenty of shots to choose from, but really, this lovely little lady was in pole position for the slot all along, as I've never seen a smew before. I had hoped, when I set myself the target of 50 species in the year, with 5 that I've not previously blipped, that I may get a new 'lifer', too. This is she :o)
