Drift

On Mondays I go to an art workshop at the West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen. For the last few weeks I have been working from this wonderful object, found on the beach. We have been moving from observed drawing to abstraction and this piece of driftwood is a great source. It is visceral, has large and small landscapes in it and takes on different characteristics in changing light.

The large painting I am working on is in the extras - an early stage of a work in progress.
