Cutting edge

I had no idea what to blip today, but then I happened to read David Lebovitz's blog entry about his favourite knife. Why not blip a knife then?

I bought this little knife at a stall in Lézignan market that sells only Pallares knives from Solsona, near Barcelona: a small family business that's been hand-making knives for about a century. Solsona used to be a centre of knife-making, but they are now the only workshop left. Compared to the fancy Japanese knives you get nowadays, they are absurdly cheap. This little couteau d'office  is carbon steel (unusual nowadays) with a boxwood handle, is razor-sharp, and it cost me just 10 euros (a quick google just now found them on fancy US sites selling at four times that).
