We found them!

Today we followed the coastal road to Picton where we will take the inter island ferry tomorrow. On our way we stopped at a bay that is well known for its colony of New Zealand Fur Seals and, to our delight, there were hundreds! Once again we passed through such changing scenery of amazing hills that looked more like a dessert covered in dry brown grass with an occasional oasis of vineyards. We lost count of the dried up river beds we crossed. It has been quite grey today, but fine. We are hoping for sun tomorrow as we take the 3 1/2 hour crossing to the north island through the fiords.
