It dawned on me this morning that I wouldn't be planting the usual small crop of potatoes in pots this year. That prompted another rootle around in the garage and a trip to the recycle centre (dump). All the big plastic containers that originally had growmore (fertiliser) or blood, fish, and bone meal went along with some plant pots and other bits and bobs. The garage looks empty enough to play indoor tennis!

Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. Runrig on the Nano (The Story and Long Distance). We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. There was a tractor ploughing in the field opposite the church. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. No sign of the farmer today.

We walked along the cycle path to Westhaven and went over the road bridge over the railway and down to the beach. The sea was calm. The tide had just started to come in. One or two dog walkers today.

We had a wander along the beach as far as the fishermen's huts. Maeve had a wander about on her own while I had a look round the smaller boats with their tarpaulins tied down with ropes for abstract ideas. We came back along East Row. We crossed back over the road bridge and carried on round in a loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home.

I ended up with an abstract grid. From three shots. One boat hull. One rope on a tarpaulin background. Another rope with alternate orientation on a tarpaulin background. Jiggery pokery ...
