Sunrise over the Gorse

Like yesterday, I woke before sunrise today, giving me the chance to head out to this vantage point above our driveway to capture the sun breaking over the horizon.

The gorse on the hillside is a reluctant nursery to natives which seem to be poking their heads up through their spiky blanket.

Just as I was walking back to the house after taking this shot I was buzzed by tomtits, warblers and bellbirds, all full of morning song. What a gorgeous way to start a Sunday!
