Half-timbered Houses in Rennes

We took a Saturday afternoon outing to the center of Rennes today, and wandered extensively.  We passed a few dozen of this type of building; this was perhaps the best example of how they often incongruously border each other. Our ultimate goal, for a brief visit, was the art museum. Its steps are visible in the distant right background of the first extra photo; the pair of them, taken on our walk, represent the sort of quirky urban view that increasingly attracts me.
