Percolating

He watched the cloud of insects flying under the tree - following individuals, losing them as they jinked and skittered. He tried focusing on a single point but his eye was continually caught and tugged away by one of the passing creatures.

After a few minutes of this distraction, he moved away and, once again, tried to get his thoughts into order.
