Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

We are surely doomed!

I popped out very early this morning to attempt to photograph the Moon and Jupiter with my pocket camera. Just as I pressed the shutter something very large, very hot and very malevolent appeared in the southern sky.

Early calculations suggest that it is a rock, some  26 miles in diameter. For comparison, the asteroid that knocked off the dinosaurs 65 million years ago was a mere 6 miles across.  Far be it from me to worry anyone, but it appears that we are doomed.

The rock will impact a week on Wednesday, a little to the south of Slough. Ah well, it solves the problem as to whether or not we Brits should to leave the EC.
