Rude Awakening for this Rock Lizard

The pond was very low after such a dry winter so I decided to top it up this morning and then put the little fountain on to aerate the water. When I went to check on the water this poor lizard was having a shower! It must have been in the water pipe. It was far too cold to run away so I popped it on a rock and photographed it many times, with the macro lens. A bee buzzed past and suddenly the lizard's tongue popped out! It did not catch the bee and I did not catch the eye and the tongue. The extra shows the tongue in more detail if you are prehistorically curious!

We were then off to deliver the traditional Lindt chocolate bunnies to the grandchildren and spring flowers for the rockery. Lovely day despite the rain. Happy Easter everyone.
