Life through my eyes

Worth the chaos!

As today was forecast to be the best day of the weekend we decided to go to Slimbridge this afternoon and The Mall tomorrow.

So, an early swim, and a touch of pool rage from a lady who wanted the lane to herself, and decided to shout at me.  She might as well have saved her breath as I couldn't hear her with my headphones in!  So, I carried on and let her get on with it!  Managed 100 lengths today.

Then off to Slimbridge which was busier than we've ever seen it.  The overflow car park (we didn't know they had a field for that was in use)!  It was chaos to get in as cars park along the road at Slumbridge, then they swung the canal bridge open so the traffic got gridlocked!  We were lucky to have numbers on our side, much to the frustration of the oncoming traffic.

So we managed to get a sandwich and felt very sorry for the lady at the Swan's Nest cafe.  She didn't stop, no time to clear tables, and still managed a smile.  I had a word with two chaps who were sitting around and then a supervisor lady came over to clear the tables.

Anyway, I'm rambling now!  The real bonus - just minutes after we got to the Kingfisher hide, there was a buzz of excitement when the kingfisher arrived!  The first time we've ever seen him in all the years of going there, so it was very exciting!  There is an Easter egg duck hunt, they're not very easy to spot!  ;-(  Plus a few of the usual suspects!  And a new species of two headed flamingo!
