A stretch of the canal well known to local blippers, but one which I've rarely experienced in the sunshine. The red brick chimney of Merchant's Quay was looking as fine as I've seen it.

Earlier I did a short circuit of the moor hoping that the rising temperatures had brought out some additional butterflies. There were several Small Tortoiseshell about again, but nothing else as yet.
