Not For Sorrow

Though there is only one magpie in my frame it is not for sorrow as it is one of a parliament of the birds that took off when Jazzy dog and I approached the oak tree where they were sitting.

There are lots of folk stories and superstitions associated with magpies.  One topical story is that the magpie was the only bird that didn’t sing or comfort Jesus when he was crucified. 


MrQ was playing at a jazz club and my daughter invited me to hers for a late lunch of paschal lamb. It was delicious. We had an enjoyable and lively family debate about items in the news. My granddog Frankie dog looked a bit sheepish, maybe thinking that we were arguing or just hoping that there would be some titbits left for her. (Extras.)
