dedication!

...sadly, the last day of planting trees at this huge site at Howton Down, Seale Hayne, just outside Newton Abbot.  We have been planting here for 3 years, creating our largest native woodland yet: 12000 mixed broad-leafed trees on 22 acres of land.  Although we will never see the woodland in maturity I really look forward to seeing the progress of the woodland each year. The weather today has been four seasons: sunshine, howling winds, rain and finally horrific hail which was so strong it hurt (see photo).  After we had finished planting the owwners of the site provided us with a fantastic cream tea as a thanks you.  Which was nice :)
