Highland Folk Museum

Slept like the proverbial log last night, and really enjoyed our cooked breakfast this morning.  We were free to do whatever we chose, and the HG and I chose to view the Queen's View at Loch Tummel.  There were quite a few tourists around, but sadly we didn't get a good view as it was raining and misty.

We drove on to Newtonmore and visited the Highland Folk Museum.   We have often passed this and never ventured in;  We were very impressed by it, 80 acres and lots of buildings and artefacts from the 1700's.  And they have recreated a 'village' of the 1700's or thereabouts, with the black houses, and people in costume giving information.  The fires were lit in the houses, and it was very smoky,. and gave a good view of what life might have been like in those days.

Back in Pitlochry, we had a very good dinner, and we were given a lovely wee 'nest' of Easter eggs and chickens, with one larger egg and a knitted cover, all made by the organisers.  There was entertainment in the hotel this evening, a chap from Saltcoats in Ayrshire, with a guitar.  He was very good indeed, and he had us all singing along.

We didn't sit up too late, as tomorrow will be a busy day!

A mixed bag of weather today, not too much sunshine, although a little, and a bit of rain, although we were lucky and didn't get caught out in it.
