After the storm

There were still quite impressive clouds later in the day after Storm Katie struck overnight.

Our recycling wheelie bin was out last night and it got blown across the footpath to the road and emptied its contents - including glass jars and bottles, some of which broke - all over the road. We didn't know this as we were still asleep. Our wonderful neighbour picked it all up, including the broken glass, as he's an early riser. The wind was really ferocious, and apparently a lot of bins went over - our neighbour had also been along the road picking up what he could to clear the rubbish. The first we knew of it was when our son looked out the front door and saw papers strewn over our front garden that related to church, so he knew it had come from our bin! My husband found out later in the morning what our neighbour had done. Apart from that, we seem to have got off lightly from the storm.
