On the buses

Today we volunteered to do traffic management for the buses that had been hired to take 2000 people from the car park at Threshfield quarry to the event at Kilnsey Crag instead of orienteering, to give my knees a rest and we thought the open fell of Kilnsey Crag might be too much for Mr P's heart.  What a good decision that was. Early starters had sunshine but late starters had hail and snow. Many retired for fear of hypothermia.  Meanwhile Mr P and I chatted to the returning orienteers, listened to tales of gruesome weather, stopped the traffic to allow the buses to turn and searched them for lost property. Thank you to the person who left a large umbrella on the bus which I put to very good use during the frequent rain and hail showers.
The name of this annual Easter event is the "JK". Was pleased to see the buses had joined in the spirit.  It was actually quite a scenic spot- see extra- taken before the snow.
