Derelict dovecote

This dovecote has been here in our garden since we moved in around 14 years ago, decaying gracefully into the elements.

I had to make three sorties to sketch this because of heavy showers and ended up completing it indoors. A pity in a way because the colours in the wet undergrowth are much richer than I have painted them. I then had to wait a while to take this photo because the sun came out behind me casting my shadow over the drawing. The start of April showers I suppose, but the wind is perishing.
