The Hoofdstraatkerk

The Hoofdstraatkerk is a landmark building in an eclectic style built in 1891 as a Reformed Church on Main Street in Leiderdorp. The church building is located along the A4 and the Old Rhine.

In it's history the church has been threatened with demolition several times in the nineties. Causes were the construction of the high speed train line and the widening of the A4 freeway.

Despite being damaged by a large fire in 1996 it managed to survive and even though the surrounding infrastructure has totally been reconstructed recently - and is still partly under construction - it will remain a proud landmark for the coming eras.
