Marking the occasion

A beautiful day today weather and holiday-wise. Boiled eggs for breakfast and then three departures: the official Bailey-sitter off to surf school and the bestest friend and the favourite around the coast to celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary with their Christmas present.

Bailey and I wandered eventually to see the surfer and with blue skies and a bit more thought about the photography, I captured quite a few shots whilst she caught waves. We headed back up the hill for our lunch and then headed around the coastal path to Mawgan Porth on a mission. We waved at what we hoped were the bestest friend and the favourite before a bit of shopping. Lots of folks were down on the beach (including the child on the right paddling whilst wearing a coat and bobble hat but no trousers) but we didn't linger.

Once we were back we sat on the balcony in the sunshine until the others returned. Bailey was very pleased to see them, having been on look out duty and we were pleased to discover that we had been waving at the right people.

And tonight we have eaten at The Fish House at Fistral. A very lovely setting, gorgeous food and a new find to mark the occasion.
