Abstract everywhere

The old police station on the Crescent has lain vacant for a long time, whilst negotiations continue looking for a new use.

It's in a very prominent position, right opposite Salford Museum and Art Gallery and the main entrance to the University Campus. Not where you really want a derelict building.

So the windows (there are lots of them) have been filled with student artwork, quite a bit of it abstract in nature. I liked the way the chap on the left appears to be looking suspiciously at the woman walking by.

The extra is a scene on the River Irwell, with the Heath Avenue area of Lower Broughton on the right. It looks peaceful - difficult to believe that 350 properties were flooded here on Boxing Day. People generally moved upstairs - no-one wanted to leave their home.
