Beached

One of the 'downsides' (not really!) of having a tripod dog is that he is  fascinating to other people and sometimes our walks can take a very long time even when we don't cover much distance as we stop to chat and explain his missing leg.

Today was such a day - we met a few people who stopped to make a fuss of him, including a mum with a couple of toddlers who were wide eyed with amazement at seeing him. They really took to him and of course he loved the attention.

It took nearly two hours to cover a distance that normally takes less than ninety minutes!

I popped to Wetherby this afternoon and found this huge trunk beached on a shingle bank in the middle of the River Wharfe - dumped by the recent floods. I was able to get out into the middle of the bank without getting wet!
