An afternoon of flamenco

Great meeting of our writers' club this afternoon (see the extra), the first meeting after we renamed the club 'Writing on the Wharfe', reflecting the area where the members come from and write.
Sam, a talented flamenco guitarist, came to explain a bit about flamenco to us and to play some to inspire us. The music was astounding, the information fascinating. A great prelude to the Leeds Flamenco Festival over the weekend 27/28 May, which Sam organises.
We also tied up loose ends on a project to be launched when the schools return from the Easter break, to name the 'Young Poet' and 'Young Short Story Writer' of the Year from the two neighbouring Wharfe valley villages, Menston and Burley-in-Wharfedale. I've got the job of getting the message out so will be creating a website and posters now that we have the name.
I also had an inspirational morning with 60 very energetic, enthusiastic young dancers who have two days of rehearsals for dancing at the Wembley Stadium. I'll be back with them tomorrow morning so that will surely be the subject of my 3 April blip.
