On the pier

Today saw the informal re-opening of the first stage of the restoration of the Victorian Pier in Dunoon.

I saw informal because it was being used as the venue for a "Ride & Run" event being organised by the Dunoon BIDS project so it was the start and finish point for both the runners and the cyclists. But there were also food stalls, crafts, local businesses and entertainment.

All caught my eye as I paid a visit. It was great fun and was organised between a great morning of campaign activity in Strachur and a mass leafleting in Dunoon.

A group of former Butlin's Redcoats were performing when I was there and although later most had SNP badges on , this was perhaps more reminiscent of bygone times for those who ventured "Doon the water".
