Mussels

Last Thursday was our 36th wedding anniversary but the campaign being in full swing we didn't get the chance to do anything special - in fact I was away in Oban overnight at the first of the hustings.

However today we managed to have lunch at the newly re-opened Inver Restaurant which was every bit as good as it was last year which was its first year under new ownership.   These were the mussels in my main course  served with wild garlic and burnt cream whilst Cathleen had Halibut with a crab sauce.

Argyll has now a range of very good restaurants and Inver is particularly special with a unique approach using the best of local ingredients , foraged food and a creative imagination.  It took us a little time to appreciate it, given how different it is but we are now convinced by what is yet  another good reason to visit Argyll & Bute !
