Allan Bridge

The day dawned a bit brighter following our dreary arrival at Lake Glenbawn. It was however still quite cold, and not really outdoor weather with the icy wind. Late morning, Hilary & I climb in the car for a drive around to see the area - new to us.
We headed into Scone, the equestrian capital of Australia, for a look around. It is really quite beautiful with all the green grass and paddocks for the horses.
Our route took us over Allan Bridge on a detour to the lake, as the normal access road was flooded.
Could not find out much about the history of this wood & steel suspension bridge other than it is only one of a very few of its type left in the country. The single lane structure has wooden boarding, with a maximum gross vehicle mass of 4 tonnes allowed.
