Collecting frogspawn in the rain

We haven't had frogs in our garden pond for some time now. So this afternoon we took advantage of nadinepierce's local knowledge of amphibian hotspots (one of which is quite bizarre) to hunt down some frogspawn. We picked up two jar-fulls of the slimy stuff for restocking, as blipped. If you pop across to nadinepiece's blip for the day, you can see just how excited I am with our new acquisition.

The other main excitement of our trip over the by-pass was a couple of rounds of Settlers of Catan, both of which were won by nadinepierce. She (apparently unknowingly) deployed a very effective strategy that produced sudden surprise wins. (This was highly reliant on collecting development cards <-- detail for those in the know).

Earlier in the day we popped up to the National Museum of Scotland to visit the Fossil Hunters exhibition. Its focus is fossil evidence to explain how vertebrate life stepped from water to land hundreds of million years ago, and how this evidence was collected from the Scottish borders. For most of the time that we were at the exhibition we were the only visitors so we had great access to all the fabulous exhibits.

Exercise today: walking (12,982 steps) Xiii.
