Dysart's Truck Stop, Maine

We spent much of the day driving north from Seabrook New Hampshire, just above Massachusetts, to our motel for the next couple of days, in Ellsworth Maine. I have a presentation to the Downeast Audubon nearby tomorrow, and the next day we expect to visit Acadia National Park.

On our way north we had a substantial lunch at Dysart's Truck Stop--it's the biggest such stop in Maine, just southwest of Bangor off Highway I-95. I had a wonderful lobster stew with great chunks of lobster, and we shared brumbleberry pie for dessert (that's made of blueberries and raspberries--scrumptious!). Everything is homemade, and everyone seems to take at least a few cookies along (as we did). This antique vehicle is near the entrance to the restaurant, with bakery offerings displayed in back of it.
