To Malta

Band trip to Malta this week.  We left the band club at 10.30am and took a coach up to Newcastle Airport.  We then took the 4.10 flight through to Malta, which took about 3.5 hours.

After we landed we seemed to be waiting ages for the luggage to turn up - the conveyor belt was turning, but nothing was appearing.  Various people in hi-viz jackets were looking through the hole where the conveyor belt came from, trying to work out what had gone wrong.  At this point we assumed it was probably our fault, and - when it finally got sorted - the first thing that came on the conveyor belt was a trombone.  This had probably got stuck somewhere and had to be released by hand.  Sorry everyone!

We then took a coach up to our hotel in Mellieha where some of us turned in for the night, and others went up to the local band club.

One thing to note about the hotel here - the walls are very thin.  You can hear conversations two rooms over, and the Germans in the room next to us had a loud conversation at 1am...we do have a lovely view of the bay to make up for it!
