A devoted couple

Not a good day for photography ..... it has rained incessantly all day. L and I went to St Andrews for some retail therapy. As usual we parked the car down by the harbour where there are no parking charges (yet!) Walking back to the car I spotted these fulmars snuggling up on the cliff. To try and keep the camera lens as dry as possible I only risked taking a couple of photos of not very good quality.

Fulmars are large grey and white seabirds which are related to the albatrosses. They defend their nests, which are built on rocky ledges on a cliff face, by spitting out a foul smelling oil at any intruders.
