Statue

On unexpectedly coming across a statue of oneself - in a small square in London, or outside the railway station in one's hometown, perhaps - the initial reaction is surprise. How did I not know about this? When did this happen? What did I do to deserve this?

One's subsequent thoughts are the same as anyone else's in this situation - Is it flattering? And, of course, the deeply satisfying feeling that, finally, one's true worth has been recognised.
