Caisteal an Stalcaire

This is better known by its English name "Castle Stalker" and is an icon of Highland landscape. It lies just to the north of Port Appin, from where we crossed to Lismore today for a campaign visit.

There are no voters resident in the castle so we didn't try to deliver a leaflet . Had there been , we would have !

"Stalker" is the anglicisation of "stalcaire" which means hunter , probably with birds of prey, and the castle is regarded as one of the best preserved medieval tower houses on the west coast .
