Poppies

This afternoon we visited friends in their village - all relatives who fled the Armenian genocide back in 1915.

The children loved playing with the lambs and chicks and seeing the fleece which had just been taken from a sheep (see extra photo). they will use it to stuff mattresses.

We then joined the wider family at a beautiful spot for a picnic. It was filled with beautiful flowers I'd never seen before. R & L and the older girls made garlands out of these flowers as well as with poppies and daisies.

It's so nice to be out enjoying the countryside knowing it will soon change as it's now in the mid-20s so everything  will soon be turning brown and dry.
