Litter picking at Tra na Crosaire

What a difference a day makes- warm, sunny, bright and airy - after yesterday's snow, gales, rain and floods! Today I have had a very physical day and am now wrecked. This morning I joined Bat and we went down to Trá na Crosaire. This is the most beautiful strand but the last time i came I was shocked at the amount of rubbish everywhere and resolved to do something about it. Although there'd been a national clean-up a couple of week's ago there was still tons of stuff - mostly fishing paraphernalia and of course masses of plastic. We were joined by Tomás and Lisa and between us filled 15 large bags and hoicked tons of other stuff up to the road, including parts of car and a beer barrel. Bat has rung the litter man who assures us it will be picked up at some point. Tough work but the situation is pretty gorgeous.
Back home and more work in the garden for the polytunnel men may be coming tomorrow. I have cleared heaps of brambles but keep on making more. Time for a cuppa,
